People

Our people make our church.

St Paul's is a church by virtue of its people and nothing else. Aside from the clergy, a parish is maintained, run and managed by the people who come. Our parish is grateful for all those who stand, both for elected office, and voluntary positions. The Vicar, and assistant clergy here, are assisted by the Churchwardens, a Treasurer, sidesmen, servers, a sacristan, an organist, as well as our child welfare officer, Gift Aid Secretary, Social Club & Bar staff and the many who help out. Below is just a sample of those, but if you want to know who really does what here, you have to come and visit!

Fr Robert Wilkinson has been our Vicar since October 2011. He was ordained in 2001 and served previously as the Team Vicar in the nearby parish of Wood Green, and before that a curate at Christ Church, Southgate in the same Diocese.

He has degrees in German from the University of London and Theology from the University of Cambridge, where he trained for ordination at Westcott House.
He has written popular tracts for the Church Union on church liturgy and is hoping to complete a doctoral thesis in the near future.

He looks forward to serving our parish for years to come.

The clergy and people of our parish are supported very much in many of the the day-to-day workings of our parish by our two church wardens: Mrs Cynthia Broodie & Mr Ibrahim Kargbo. Cyhthia is also our parish treasurer and Ibrahim has been a worshipper with us for may years. Between them we have the skills to keep the place going!!  Churchwardens take on this very responisible role and are elected annually at our Annual Prochial Church Meeting. They are officers of our Bishop.
